Ferndown and Uddens Business Forum, in partnership with East Dorset District Council, has taken positive action towards promoting modern businesses with the introduction of their interactive website, www.ferndownforum.com.

Developed by Market Town, the UK’s leading local authority website designers, the site aims to support businesses on the Industrial Estates and create a domain for information, communication, business development and recruitment opportunities. The site also posts current news, events and useful links for the benefit of the businesses and the local community.

The website has a fresh look and feel and provides several opportunities for members to exploit mutual benefits: from an Online Directory of Ferndown and Uddens Businesses (that can be searched by key word, alphabetically or by category) to information about the Business Forum Meetings, public transport and car sharing information to improve access to the Estates.

The most impressive and innovative element of the site is its recruitment section. The Job Market pages allow employers to post their vacancies free of charge and view CV’s, where job-seekers can submit their own CV’s online as they are viewing the vacancies. Heli Polonen, the Accessibility Coordinator, said: “This two-way interaction will help the businesses fill their vacancies more easily and boost the local employment opportunities”.

The website already looks to be a major success for the Ferndown Forum with hits increasing daily.
