Government software supplier Lagan today announced that it was included in the 2009 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Ireland. Placement is based on average percentage revenue growth over five years. Lagan grew 254 per cent during this period to record its highest ever revenue of over £15 million in the last year. The award marked the ninth consecutive time Lagan has been included in this prestigious assessment of company growth.
Lagan’s CEO Des Speed said: "Featuring once more in the Deloitte Fast 50 marks a huge accolade for Lagan. It’s been well documented that global trading conditions have been extremely difficult for the technology industry so we are particularly proud to be reporting growth at this time. We posted record revenues in our first quarter and followed this up with another good performance in Q2. In this, our 16th year, we are confident that our people and products will continue to improve government services, drive efficiencies and reduce costs."
The Fast 50 programme, now in its tenth year in Ireland, ranks the fastest-growing technology companies in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Announcing the winners of the Technology Fast 50 programme, David Coates, Associate Partner, Deloitte, Belfast said: “The aim of this year’s Fast 50 was to showcase the resilience and determination of Ireland’s indigenous technology industry and this has certainly been achieved. Our winners show that they are rising above the challenging business environment and are proof that inventive companies will continue to be successful.”
The awards took place in Clontarf Castle on October 15th. Industry figures speaking at the event included Paul Rellis, Managing Director, Microsoft Ireland; Michael Dwyer, Founder and CEO, Empathy Marketing Limited (Pigsback.com); and Jim Sloane, Lead Technology Partner and Vice Chairman, Deloitte UK.
