The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority’s Planning Department is preparing a document designed to speed up the planning process by helping people to submit valid applications.
The Authority is asking for people’s views on the document, which may then be adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance under the Joint Unitary Development Plan for Pembrokeshire. The Authority’s Members will decide whether to formally adopt the guidance.
Principal Planning Officer Vicki Hirst explained: “We cannot accept or consider planning applications that do not provide all the necessary information.
“So this guidance is intended to ensure that applicants are aware of exactly what information they need to include to make sure their proposal can be registered as valid.
“It will mean applicants can prepare all the relevant information in advance, which should help reduce any delay in their application being considered and determined and should also reduce the number of conditions imposed on planning permissions.”
The Authority has sent out more than 200 consultation copies of the draft document to community councils, planning agents and architects and statutory consultees.
Officers would also welcome views from members of the public. You can view the draft document online at www.pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk or contact the Authority’s head office at Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock on 0845 345 7275.
The deadline for comments is September 2nd 2009.
