Universities Secretary John Denham announced the appointment of three new non-executive directors of the Student Loans Company (SLC) today.
Two of the three new appointments replace outgoing SLC non-executive directors Tanvi Davda and Angela McCusker. The third is a newly created post. The new SLC non-executive directors are:
* Sandra Arkle;
* David Edelman; and
* Sally Smedley.
Mr Denham said:
"These new appointments will bring invaluable expertise in the fields of marketing, customer relations, retail finance and human resources to the Student Loans Company.
"I am confident that these individuals will provide the high-quality strategic advice and guidance the SLC needs as it enters a new and exciting phase."
The three new appointments to the SLC board have been made jointly with Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Education & Lifelong Learning in the Scottish Government.
