The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has written to the Mayor of Madrid, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, offering sympathy and support from Londoners following the fatal air crash at Madrid airport earlier this week.
The Mayor, said: ‘I was deeply saddened by the dreadful aeroplane crash in your city on Wednesday.
‘On behalf of all Londoners, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to you and all those who have been bereaved in this tragic accident.
‘Please accept London's sympathy and support at this difficult moment.’
