Ukrainian Government pushes Parliament for WTO Ascension

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko hopes that already next week the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratifies all documents necessary for Ukraine’s accession to the WTO. She announced this at her meeting with the diplomatic corps.

Yulia Tymoshenko told that yesterday during its sitting the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine had endorsed 10 bills on Ukraine’s accession to the WTO and submitted them for the Parliament’s consideration. The Prime Minister hopes that the profile parliamentary committees will consider all documents during several days and already next week they will be passed by the Verkhovna Rada in the first reading at the least.

Moreover, the Prime Minister expects that Parliament will urgently consider the bill necessary for organization of Euro-2012. Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized that today the foreign investors, who intend to invest to the projects related with holding Euro-2012 in Ukraine, hope for the Parliament’s adoption of two strategic laws: Law on concession and Law on private state partnership. According to Yulia Tymoshenko, passing of the mentioned laws will ensure refund of investments.

According to her, the Government has completed and submitted all documents to the Parliament and will recommend the Verkhovna Rada to consider them immediately next week. The Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed that from its part the Government had made all necessary steps for the preparation of holding a final tournament of Euro-2012 in Ukraine. At that Yulia Tymoshenko is confident that Ukraine and Poland will host this event at high level.
