Chief Executive Phillip Webb has welcomed the publication of the report on the PITO End-to-End Review published by the Home Office.

The review examined PITO’s role in providing information and communications technology (ICT) to the police service.

The review team, led by Robert McFarland, a former CEO from the BOC group of companies, considered whether PITO remained positioned and funded in the most appropriate way to deliver the ICT support that its customers in the police and criminal justice sector need.

All non-departmental public bodies such as PITO must go through the End-to-End Review process.

PITO Chief Executive Phillip Webb said: “We are pleased that the review findings have been made available. The report reflects some of the challenges we face as an organisation and highlights areas where we have performed well. The report raises some key issues that we will be examining in more detail with our partners in the coming months.

“In the meantime, PITO has a considerable work programme that the police service is relying on us to deliver. While that is our immediate focus, we will also play a full and active part with the Home Office and other partners to improve the provision of police ICT and to shape the development of the National Policing Improvement Agency.”
