Jean Lambert MEP today welcomed the adoption by the European Parliament
of the written declaration on non-human primates in scientific experiments. With 393 Members of the European Parliament having signed the declaration, the statement now has majority support, which means it will be adopted as a position of the Parliament.

Jean Lambert said:

“The adoption of this declaration is a major step towards achieving greater protection of primates and marks progress towards ending testing on all animals. I look forward to this commitment from MEPs being used to develop new policies to stop the suffering of primates in experiments.”

This is only the third declaration to be adopted by the European Parliament this year.
