What do you think Suffolk will look like in the next twenty years? You have the chance to have your say on what should be the most important developments in Suffolk and the opportunity to shape your future as part of a Community Strategy consultation being carried out by the Suffolk Strategic Partnership.
Between now and 13 July, Suffolk residents can log on to a special online questionnaire, and comment on the priorities for the county around crime, safety, employment, education, housing, health, recreation, the environment and communities.
As well as this online survey, there will be twelve focus groups in different areas of the county to see what the priorities are in different areas of the county.
The community strategy will reflect the changing priorities and ambitions for Suffolk over the next twenty years, from 2008 to 2028. The strategy will lead the way in shaping the future of Suffolk and will set out the collective action of public sector organisations and how money is spent.
There are eight themes in the consultation document 'Shaping the Future of Suffolk' which look at the possible challenges and opportunities facing the county and possible ways to deal with them. These themes are:
- Creating the best place to grow and learn
- Creating prosperity for all
- Creating the greenest county
- Creating the safest county
- Creating a cohesive county
- Creating the healthiest county
- Valuing people
- Culture and sport
Clare Euston, chairman of the Suffolk Strategic Partnership, said: "We want the public to tell us what they want Suffolk to look like in the next twenty years and what the important issues are for them. The strategy will build on the past achievements in the county and will set out our common vision for Suffolk. The public's views will help us finalise the community strategy and ensure that issues at a local level
help shape the future development of the county."
